The Zone 4.2 African Individual Chess Championship Qualifiers organizing committee through tournament Director John Vianney Mukalazi has confirmed the venue for the Qualifiers that commence two days from now has been changed.
“The tournament will be hosted at MUBS,” Mukalazi revealed to Kawowo Sports
“We looked at the accessibility of the hotel, hotel charges which were expensive and decided to change.
“MUBS offered to sponsor the tournament so we decided to bring it at the University; close to their players.
“We hope to get many participants particularly from the University because the venue is now reachable compared to our first pick. It’s convenient now for those who are going to participate.”
The Qualifiers are slated for this weekend (11th – 12th February). The event commences at 9:30am with the opening ceremony that will have Dr. Moses Muhwezi deputy Principal MUBS as chief guest.
Initially, the tournament was to take place at Little Rock Gardens, Zana.
