Kirinya-Jinja SSS captain George Kasonko insists his team will get enough points this season to remain in the premier league

Having picked up their first premier league win ever on Sunday, the side moved up to 14th  in  the league and Kasonko who has played all his side’s league games this season is adamant his team will beat the drop.

“I have said it before that we are not going to be relegated. We are among the best teams in the league if you look at our performances. It is just luck that we didn’t have.

“We have found our winning touch. We just need to be consistent and safety will be assured.”

George Ssenkaba notched a brace on his debut as Kirinya secured maximum points for the first time since their promotion to the premier league.

It was the first time the side was scoring more than a goal in a single match

“They [new players] have added something to the club. It was a great result and we all have him [Ssenkaaba] to thank.

“As a team, we played well. We controlled possession which we always do. We fully deserved this victory. It could have been more than two goals for us had we not wasted our chances in the first half.”
