The second edition of the Gorillas in the Mist Rally is expected to bring out massive thrills compared to last year.
The event is due on the first weekend of next month (3rd-5th March) in Kabale.
This time round, Kabale Rally is set to grace a Super Rally Format after a longtime in the National Rally Championship.
Crews that drop out on day one will be able to re-join the rally on day two but with a three hour penalty according to the FMU National rules.
Eastern Motor Club president Kees Kagolo shared with Kawowo Sports the intentions behind the Super Rally.
“Drivers always come to enjoy themselves in these events and the fact that Kabale is very far, we believe a Super Rally will give them full satisfaction,” he explained.
“Besides just scoring points, there some crews that look at finishing the whole itinerary regardless of the position. By the way, these crews will be regarded as finishers at the end of the day,” he added.
Kagolo further promises more action in Kabale
“Last year’s event was just a trial and we managed to pull it off. This time we have advanced everything from the stages, safety among others to ensure that everyone enjoys the event,” he asserted.
The Gorillas in the Mist Rally consists of 14 stages running over 208 kilometres of competitive distance.
