Human Rights Commission Tour: Booma 2-4 Airtel Kitara
FUFA Big League outfit Airtel – Kitara registered a 4-2 morale boosting 4-2 away victory past Booma, a Masindi District 4th Division side.
This was during a friendly match sponsored by the Uganda Human Rights Commission (meant to sensitize the public on the role of the commission) at Masindi Stadium over the weekend.
The home side broke the deadlock through Godfrey Tugume’s well executed free kick.
Jafali Mukhusin equalized before halftime to make the scoreline even at one goal apiece.
The visitors took the lead upon resumption, thanks to goalkeeper Serial Komakech’s header off a curling Rogers ‘Roger Milla’ Ahumuza corner kick.
The goal galore continued when Job Talemwa made it 2-2, beating substitute goalie Michael Muhumuza.
Usual suspects Ahumuza and Shadrack Kakooza crowned the business in Airtel – Kitara’s favour.
Next Build Up:
Airtel – Kitara’s next friendly will be on Monday 20th February 2017 against Pajobi Independent Football Club from Pakwach district at Kaiso landing site on Lake Albert, about 93 km from Hoima town.
According to the team manager of Airtel-Kitara F.C, Joshua ‘Tata Josh’ Atugonza, the essence of having these trial matches is to prepare the players in the best way possible physically and mentally.
We are playing build up matches first because we are not having matches on the menu in the Big League.
Then, we want the players to remain physically and mentally fit ahead of the up-coming engagements.
The Hoima based side is fourth in the Rwenzori Group table standings with 20 points from 15 matches.
Kitara’s next league fixture will be away to Kireka United on Sunday 26 February, 2017 at Namboole outside ground.
