Uganda Cranes and Mamelodi Sundowns number one, Denis Onyango couldn’t hide his excitement after receiving what he termed as a ‘special gift from a special person’ from Egypt goalie, Essam El Hadary.
Onyango posed with a jersey inscribed with the name ‘El Hadary’ at the back and posted it as a souvenir from AFCON in Gabon sent by the oldest player ever to play at the competition.
“Special gifts from special people. Egyptian record breaker Essam El Hadary sent me this souvenir from AFCON 2017 in Gabon where he became the oldest player to feature at the Africa Cup of Nations at 44. Be Inspired to Aspire. ???? #AFCON2017#Goalkeepers #UgandameetsEgypt”
Onyango’s admiration for the 44-year-old has never been in doubt and before the two faced off in a Group D match in Port Gentil last month, he hailed the Egyptian for proving his worth even at a latter age revealing he inspires him to go and on.
The former SC Villa custodian is currently among the most celebrated goalkeepers in Africa and also the reigning African Player of the Year – Based on the continent.
