- Police Vs The Saints – Nakivubo stadium, @ 4pm
Police FC will be eager to maintain their perfect record under new Coach Abdallah Mubiru when they host The Saints in the Uganda Cup Round 32 at Nakivubo.
The Cops have not lost a game in three competitive matches under the former Proline and KCCA tactician winning all, scoring five goals and conceding none.
Speaking ahead of the game, the soft spoken tactician admits a tough tie against a good side with a good coach but says his side’s aim to go as far as they can.
“For us, the target is to go as far as we can in the competition,” said Mubiru. “We have respect for The Saints, good side with a fantastic coach but we are ready for the fight,” he added.
The two sides come into the game in good form with wins in their previous encounters – Police won 1-0 away to Proline in the league while The Saints beat Bul 2-0 at their new home in Matugga.
Mubiru is expected to hand former KCCA skipper Sakka Mpiima his debut after serving a two match ban with Yasin Mubiru expected to give way at right back.
Julius Malingumu, Godfrey Wakaza and Noah ‘Babadi’ Kasule are expected to run the show for the visitors while Hood Kaweesa, William Wadri and Reuben Kimera will be crucial for the hosts who eliminated Maroons in the previous round.
