The Saints Coach Moses Basena was left to rue missed chances after his side lost 4-1 to Police in the Uganda Cup.

The Bombo based side were average on the day as the Cops, despite an average performance as well, humiliated them with an effective first half that saw The Saints concede three times.

“I don’t think we were poor as the result suggest,” Basena told Kawowo Sports. “But we didn’t take our chances and they did with theirs. That’s the moment we lost the game,” he added.

Without revealing details, Basena also hinted at off pitch problems as one of the reasons for the humiliating defeat.

“But again, we have issues off the pitch as a club and it also did affect us in one way or the other.

The team, which shifted home from Bombo to Matugga in the second half of the season arrived late at Nakivubo and didn’t get enough warm up.

It’s reported that there were logistical problems which delayed the team with reports pointing to lack of transport which only arrived late.
