Less than a week after SC Villa sacked Shafik Bisaso, URA have followed suit by axing Coach Kefa Kisala.

The news of his axing came out on the night of Sunday February 27, 2017, more than 48 hours after his side lost 1-0 to Proline at home in the Uganda Premier League.

Since replacing Moses Basena midway last season, URA have fallen off the ladder and in his first full season as coach at the club, he has won only four league games, drawing a record 12 and losing two in 18 matches.

The four-time champions, 7th on the 16–team log with 24 points, a whole 14 adrift of leaders KCCA also lost the Mapinduzi Cup although they are into the last 16 of the Uganda Cup.

The axe falls on the former winger cum left back a couple of days after the club named a new chairperson to replace Ali Sekatawa who is now the Vice-Chairperson.

Kisala joins a long list of sacked managers in the league this season that has among others Bisaso, Sserwadda (SC Villa), Alex Gitta, Wasswa Bbosa (Express), Sam Timbe (Police – reported mutual consent) and Abdallah Mubiru (Vipers).

With no official communiqué from the club yet, it remains to be seen whether his assistant, James Odoch has been spared to take charge as interim.

As usual, we shall keep you posted on the development.
