- Uganda Premier League
- Tuesday, February 28
- Kirinya-Jinja SS vs. The Saints – Kakindu, 4:30pm

Kirinya Jinja SSS’ fight for survival in the Uganda Premier League continues on Tuesday when they welcome The Saints to Kakindu Stadium.
The league debutants secured their first victory of the campaign on February 12, with a 2-0 win over Sadolin Paints hence boosting the confidence in the team, but were made to deal with another setback five days later when they lost 1-0 to Onduparaka.
Against The Saints and at home where they have not lost a game since the start of the season, Abbey Bogere and his charges will attempt to register a second win as the struggle to maintain their premier league status carries on.
Victory for the Jinja side tomorrow will not move them out of the drop zone but it will move them to within one point of safety.
Opponents The Saints will be looking to make it two wins in two on Tuesday. Having beaten another Jinja outfit, Bul 2-0 eleven days ago, The Saints who themselves aren’t safe from relegation will look to continue with their winning ways.
Basena’s main task this season is to secure the Bombo outfit another campaign of premier league football. At the moment though, that is not guaranteed as only five points separate them from relegation.
With only 13 games left of play, Basena knows the significance of tomorrow’s game. He will want to ease off pressure off his side as the season nears its closure.
The Saints who are unbeaten in 2017 enter tomorrow’s game seated 10th in the league with 21 points.
