Vipers assistant coach Edward Golola has demanded for a positive reaction from players when they tackle JMC Hippos on Tuesday afternoon at Namboole.

The Venoms put up a dismal show at Wankulukuku in a dull goalless draw with Express, arguably one of the worst performances.

While they were seen as title challengers at the start of the season, Vipers have been nothing like it and the tactician has called for a quick response from his charges in their remaining games, starting with JMC Hippos.

“Do I expect a reaction? Yes. Definitely,” said Golola as quoted by the club website.

“We have to set the tone now.  We’ve not got any excuses. We were so casual and did not fight hard against Express even when we could have won easily.

“The players have done it before less than a fortnight ago in Comoros and I don’t think they have already forgotten.

“They have to do the  same here. We have taken the criticism that has come our way, but we will bounce back and we have to. There is no point in feeling sorry for ourselves.”

Vipers were held to a 1-1 drew in the reverse fixture at  Kakindu when Duncan Seninde’s goal was cancelled by Viane Sekajugo’s late equalizer.

The Kitende-based side, ten points behind leaders KCCA, will fancy their chances against a side yet to record victory this term.
