Following the sudden closure of Nakivubo stadium on Tuesday, Police FC has shifted all their home games to Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

The Cops had shifted base from Kavumba Recreation Ground midway the season and after playing just three home games at the venue, they have been forced to relocate.

“With effect from this day, all our home games will be at Namboole,” confirmed club chairman Asan Kasingye. “We have notified the league secretariat about the change,” he added.

UPL Chief Executive Officer, Bernard Bainamani confirmed receipt of the letter from the 2005 league champions pertaining the change of venue.

We are in receipt of the letter from Police FC in regards to shifting to Namboole.

Police becomes the second team to host their games at the biggest stadium in the country alongside Sadolin Paints who left Bugembe in the middle of the campaign.

The Cops have great memories at the venue as they won their only league title in history at the facility in 2005.
