As part of the France-Uganda week celebrations, Uganda Cranes will host the French Military team at the Nelson Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.

The match will take place on Saturday, 25th March 2017, three days after the international friendly against Kenya at Nyayo stadium in Nairobi.

Speaking during the press conference to announce the partnership at the French Embassy, Marvin Kagoro, the Total Uganda Marketing and Communications Manager thanked H.E. the Ambassador of France to Uganda Mrs. Stephanie Rivoal on behalf of management for the Sponsorship opportunity in a series of events that will celebrate the friendship between two great countries.

This football match will be part  of the activities lined up by the French mission to celebrate the France – Uganda friendship week 2017.

The week is scheduled for 18th to 25th March 2017.

The purpose is to organize a series of events and activities that bring together the friendship between Uganda and France through music, culture, food, wildlife and sport.

Additionally, the week will also include a humanitarian aspect where funds collected will be donated to a chosen charity project.

As part of the Friendship Week, a series of events and activities have been lined up and these include; Francophonie day celebrations in collaboration with other Francophone Embassies, Eco-tourism activities and events, Good France to promote the French fine dining, Debates at Makerere University on 2 topics ( Youth and Politics / Media
and Politics), Sports in Schools (on Charity), the Football event at Mandela national stadium where the Uganda Cranes will play against the French military team and a musical concert where Uganda’s top artists will perform for the crowds.

Bebe cool, Sheebah, Maddox, Eddie Kenzo & the Ghetto Kids as well as Congolese musicians and top French déjà’s will spice up the evening.

There will also be a charity dinner at the French Residence, of which the proceeds will be given to a chosen charity project.
