FUFA Big League Rwenzori Group leaders Masavu returned to winning ways in the second highest tier league of the country.
They required a hard fought 2-0 victory against visiting Kataka F.C from Mbale at their sandy Katabi Gombolola fortress.
After a goal-less first half, Peter Lumolo had a deflected shot fly into the net for the opener before usual suspect Onesmas Andama’s solo goal with 13 minutes left on the clock sealed the victory.
In the other matches played on the day, Brian Ahebwa scored the lone goal in Mbarara City’s slim 1-0 victory against Hope Doves at the Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.
Artland Katale defeated Busia Fisheries 2-0 in Kamuli courtesy of a strike in each half from Rajab Waiswa and Michael Sekiirya at the Kamuli Town Council playground.
In Hoima at the Boma playground, Airtel Kitara was held to a goal-less draw by visiting Water F.C.
Masavu lead the Rwenzori Group of the FUFA Big League with 40 points fetched from 18 games. Mbarara City is currently second on the log with 33 points from 17 games and Nyamityobora is third with 32 points from 17 matches.
Maroons Football Club are the Elgon Group leaders with 39 points from 17 games.
