Ndejje University missed a chance to close the gap on Elgon Group run away leaders, Maroons as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Kyambogo.

The match which took place at Kyambogo West End playground was played on Sunday evening.

It was Ndejje University’s 7th draw of the campaign in 16 games.

Despite being held, Ndejje University rose to second on the log with 28 points, 11 behind Maroons who have played a game more.

The two sides, Ndejje University and Maroons will square off on Thursday in Luwero in a highly billed clash.

The FUFA Big League returns on Tuesday with three games.

Kataka will host Sun City in Mbale at the Nabini playground in Bufumbo village, Water entertains Hope Doves at Kyambogo West End playground and Kira United will play Sporting United at Kira Town Council playground.

Three sides shall be promoted to the Uganda Premier League when the Big League climaxes in May 2017.

Each of the group (Elgon and Rwenzori) winners will qualify directly and the next two best sides per group shall be engaged in a promotional playoff to determine the third side.
