Ibrahim Kirya got the outcome he wanted most on his first day as URA boss thanks to Bokota Labama Kamana’s solitary goal.

The tax collectors left it late on Tuesday at the Mandela National Stadium, Nambole as the Rwandese striker notched the only goal in the 89th minute to hand the former Lweza tactician a winning start at the club.

“It was a crucial win for us,” Kirya appointed head coach six days ago said of the win.

“It was important we win today. We got the win late in the game but it doesn’t matter how you win. A win is always a win,” he added

While the four-time champions snatched all the three points, it was a balanced affair between the two teams. Both sides had equal opportunities on Tuesday, and the winning coach was pleased with both his side’s attacking and defensive play.

“Generally, it was a good game. We defended together as a team and attacked as a team.” He however, singled out sharpness upfront as something his new side needs to work on.

“We just need to improve on a few things like utilizing our chances upfront fully. We need to be more clinical.”

Kirya, tasked with delivering the Uganda Cup this year takes charge of his first home game on Friday when Soana travels to the Mehta Stadium.
