Host country Zambia booked their berth at the finals of the CAF U-20 championship on Wednesday.

Edward Chilufa struck late in extra time as Zambia defeated South Africa at the National Heroes stadium in Lusaka.

Chilufa was at the right position to head home past goalie Mondli Mpoto after 109 minutes following a well curled free-kick by another Prosper Chilufa entity.

Normal time of the game had ended goalless with Enock Mwepu and Nchanga Rangers’ Patson Daka denied by an impressive Mpoto.

Second Semi-final:

Zambia will now play the winner of Thursday’s other semi-final between Senegal and Guinea in Ndola in Sunday’s final, whilst South Africa faces the loser in the battle for bronze.
