Friendly matches:

  • Masavu 2-2 Uganda Martyrs’ University, Nkozi
  • Super Cubs 1-0 Uganda Martyrs’ University, Nkozi

Uganda Martyrs’ University, Nkozi lost and drew one game apiece in their two friendly matches played on the International Women’s Day.

In the morning, the Masaka road based institution fell to former super league side Super Cubs 1-0 in Natete before out stretching the current FUFA Big League (Rwenzori Group) leaders, Masavu in a 2-2 draw in Entebbe.

Julius Ssenkali’s double put the students’ team ahead as Masavu rallied to make the game even at their sandy Katabi Gombolola play ground.

A rare goal from defender Lawrence Bakiranze (scored right from a corner kick) and Solomon Wafula saved Masavu from blushes of an eminent loss at their own grave yard.

Shafiq Bisaso, newly appointed Technical director at Uganda Martyrs’ University appreciated the two friendlies as his side is warming up for the up-coming University Football League season.

The two matches played on the same day put my side somewhere.

I will continue to plan and build in the coming weeks.

Eric Kisuze is the head coach at the university side, replacing Steven Bogere.
