Platinum Stars coach Cavin Johnson says they have done their home work on their CAF Confederation Cup opponents Vipers Sports Club.

The Dikwena will take on the Venoms in the second round of the continental competition at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende on Saturday.

Johnson told the club website: “We are going out there and to do our best. We are going to play the best football as we can and try display the best brand for South African football going forward.

“As far as preparations are concerned, we looked at a lot of their games.”

Johnson is aware of the changes that have taken place at Vipers in the technical staff but is uncertain of how Vipers players will respond.

Never the less he says his charges are prepared all round as they have information on their oppoents and their key players.

He added: “They have also changed their coach a few days ago. They have got a new coach. We don’t know if they are going to respond positively.

“We are ready as a team. You can always expect a difficult game when you go to Uganda. They are tall and strong

“We have information on our opponents. We know who their key players are, where they play and how they play. It’s not like they are a closed book. We are just going to take them with our technical ability. We are prepared.

“We beat the Mozambicans but we must not get carried away with the Ugandans. We have to take each game as a final. That’s what we are trying to do. Each game has to be taken serious from our side.”

Platinum Stars eliminated Mozambican side Uniao do Songo 2-0 on aggregate.

They are expected to arrive in the country tonight at 7:00pm.
