Paul Mucureezi will miss KCCA FC’s game against Mamelodi Sundowns due to a bout of malaria and ulcers.

The attacking midfielder is part of the 20-man squad coach Mike Mutebi took to South Africa but Kawowo Sports understands he didn’t train with the rest of the team on the eve of the match at the Lucas Moripe stadium.

“He is out,” a source very close to the team revealed. “He is down with malaria and ulcers so he can’t play,” added.

Mucureezi has been one of the best performers in KCCA colours this season and his absence is a big blow to the Ugandan representatives who seek to earn a decent result in the first leg of the CAF Champions League clash with the African champions.

In his absence, experienced Vincent Kayizzi may earn a starting berth on the team.
