Sports Club Villa Jogoo officially returns to Masaka with a tricky date against Onduparaka in the Uganda Premier League this Sunday.

This will be SC Villa’s first league match at the Masaka Recreational stadium, after close to decade when the Jogoos moved to Kampala.

Heading to the fixture, SC Villa is second on the 16 team log with 38 points from 20 matches as Onduparaka, in their debut season continues to send shock waves as they lie third with 33 points from 21 matches.

At stake in the Masaka match is the chance for either sides to play catch up to leaders, KCCA (41 points from 20 matches).

During the first leg played in Arua last year, the home side staged a remarkable display to win 4-3 in nail biting fashion at the Green Light stadium.

So, in the return leg, the Jogoos, back at their historical home ground will be on a revenge mission.

Prodigal son Emmanuel Arnold Okwi’s rich goal scoring form of late is good news for SC Villa whose skipper Tadeo Lwanga has also rediscovered the right form.

Okwi, a mid-season signing has scored three goals in the last four matches he has featured in.

Martin Kizza, Ambrose Kirya, Mike Ndera and Abel Eturude are other offensive minded players set to keep the ball afloat for SC Villa.

Not so much of the Jogoos’ back four is expected to change from that of the goal-less draw with Proline.

Goalkeeper Samson Kirya, Ibrahim Kiyemba, John Adriko, Benard Muwanga, Henry Katongole or Patrick Mbowa shall be used.

Head coach, Wasswa Bbosa plots for a winning start in Masaka. Bbosa who took over Shafiq Bisaso noted;

We want to make Masaka Recreational Stadium a ground of slaughtering the opposition. We need these maximum points.

Onduparaka is most likely to miss inspirational captain Mohammad Shaban, who limped out in a test match against Mvara S.S in Arua.

In Ceaser ‘Ferrari’ Okhuti and Living ‘Messi’ Kabon, they have two able replacements to surge the team forward.

Midfielders Gadafi ‘Tiago’ Wahab, Ivan Mbowa and Gadafi ‘Cypher’ Gadinho are potential match winners and spoilers for the Arua based fast rising side.

Goalie Richard Anyama is expected to maintain his place in between the posts.

A massive crowd consisting of the staunch Jogoos and visiting fans from the football mad Arua is expected at the Masaka Recreational Stadium as football returns to the Central Uganda district, about 130km from the capital, Kampala.
