Herman Wasswa battles for possesion with Soana's Jonathan Mugabi. He will be key for Express at Kakindu

One of the off form teams in the Uganda Premier League Soana welcome relegation bound JMC at Kavumba Recreational Ground on Tuesday looking to secure their first victory in 2017.

When the two sides met last year in October, the Kavumba outfit then under Sam Ssimbwa had many admire the way they handled their opponents in that they were tagged ‘title contenders.’

JMC were among the victims in Soana’s merry days as they lost 1-0 to the side at Kakindu Stadium.

But since Ssimbwa’s departure late last year, things have looked far from A-OK at the club. Soana have picked up just two points from their last six league games, and they come into Tuesday’s game on the back of two successive defeats.

That worrying form has seen them drop to the eighth position in the league.

New coach Alex Isabirye started his reign at the club on a losing end after suffering a 2-0 defeat to his former employers URA on Friday at the Mehta Stadium, Lugazi.

Isabirye and his new side return to Kavumba against an appalling JMC side, needing to secure their first win since the turn of the year.

Having failed to claim victory since the start of the season, JMC face the task of taking on Soana away from home.

The Jinja side heads into the fixture following back to back defeats, one of which was a 4-2 thumping by Proline and the other came in the form of a 1-0 loss to local rivals Sadolin Paints on Friday.

The side occupies the bottom position in the league with eight points managed from 21 games and to their name, they have 33 goals conceded. That’s three more than the second worst defence of Onduparaka.
