CAF Confederation Cup: 1st Leg – Vipers (Uganda) 1-0 Platinum Stars (South Africa)
Vipers Sports Club head coach, Jorge Miguel Da Costa has challenged his charges to take the return leg of their CAF Confederation cup with the due seriousness as in the first leg at St Mary’s Kitende last Saturday.
Barely a fortnight at his job after taking over from Richard Wasswa;
To me, the game is still at the half way mark.
We travel to South Africa to complete the second half and we have the ability to do it.
I told you i am here to win
Da Costa hailed the performance of his players on the day during the first leg and also saluted the fans whom he described as supportive and special.
We had a supportive and special crowd behind us throughout the match.
I thank them in a special way. The players gave their own throughout the match and were exceptional.

Best players in the world:
Da Costa described the Vipers sports club players as the ‘best in the world’, a statement that he repeatedly said to the amusement of journalists during a post match press conference.
I have the best crop of players in the whole world.

Milton Karisa scored the lone goal on the day in the 46th minute of the game.
Fitness Issues
The fitness concerns of midfielder Brian Nkuubi and forward Erisa Ssekisambu who limped out during the well attended game continue to be monitored.
Training
Vipers resumed their training on Monday ahead of the weekend away trip that will see the two clubs lock horns at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium in Rustenberg, South Africa on Saturday, 18th March 2017.
