Moses Basena insists he does not think his side- The Saints are in the relegation dogfight despite their current form and position in the Uganda Premier League.
The Saints have won just once since the turn of the year and went into the league break on a losing end having lost 2-0 at home to SC Villa on Tuesday. But in spite of their disquieting situation, Basena is not contemplating a fight to stay up.
“Honestly speaking, I’m not thinking about relegation. We are an average team, lacking quality in almost every department, but I have not thought of us getting relegated. It is something that has not crossed my mind.
“We’ve just got to keep training so hard and work on our sharpness in the final third because just three positive results consecutively can change our position. We also have to maintain our focus.
“I have been in a similar situation so it is not new to me. I’m not disturbed at all.”
The Saints who have won five times this season, drawing eight while losing on nine occasions are currently seated 13th in the league standings with 23 points.
They play resurgent and third placed URA two weeks from now when the league returns.
