Two of the top three teams in the FUFA Big League -Elgon Group- lock horns on Thursday at Kira Municipality playground, Namugongo as third placed Kira United welcome table leaders Maroons.

The Prisoners head into tomorrow’s game on the back of a 1-0 loss they suffered a fortnight ago at the hands of Ndejje University.

It was Maroon’s first loss of the campaign, and now the side coached by Asaph Mwebaze will want to get back to winning ways and stretch their lead atop when the side they beat 2-1 in the first round presents opposition.

Mwebaze has a fully fit squad to select from apart from center back Richard Ayiko who’s out suspended.

With Kira United fighting for one of the play-off positions in the Elgon group, the tie promises to be a thrilling encounter. The Namugongo side occupies the third position in the division with 30 points, one below Ndejje placed second but just three above Paidha Black Angels positioned fourth.

There’s absolutely little room for error for the newcomers if they are to secure one of the play-offs positions and possibly earn promotion to top flight.

Nine points separate the two sides heading into tomorrow’s match, and with five games left of play for the hosts, topping the group is still possible for the side.
