Defending champion of the World Cross Country Championships Geoffrey Kamworor has revealed he is feeling the pressure ahead of this years edition at Kololo Independence Grounds, Kampala.

Even Kamworor started training in December of last year, the athlete is willing not to take anything for granted.

He believes the cross country competition will offer him the required endurance to jump start his season.

“Starting the season early is good and cross country has always been that important in my preparations. That is why I take it seriously. I started training in December and my aim was to make Team Kenya,” he said.

“Now I aim to defend my title in Kampala. My body feels great and I cannot wait to hit that trail in Kampala.”

Geoffrey Kamworor enhanced his reputation as a runner for the big stage when he maintained his unbeaten championship record at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Guiyang 2015.

He hopes to do the same again.
