KCCA will have to wait until at least Friday to reclaim Uganda Premier League top spot after failing to win at Soana on Tuesday.
The Kasasiro drew 1-1 with the hosts in Kavumba with Osman Wejuli goal at the death of half time cancelling out Geoffrey Sserunkuma goal that put Mike Mutebi’s charges into the lead.
With four games in hand over log leaders SC Villa, a win was enough for the Lugogo based side to dislodge their rivals and it looked on course when Sserunkuma slotted home in the 33rd minute off young Allan Okello assist.
The lead however couldn’t last beyond the first half as Wejuli pulled Alex Isabirye’s men level going into the break.
The second half saw Mutebi replace Tom Masiko with Ivan Ntege but it was the home side created opportunities to hurt the opponent only for Francis Olaki and Crespo Asiku to miss chances.
At the other end, KCCA now on 42 points should also have scored but Paul Mucureezi and Derrick Nsibambi were lethargic as well.
It is the third successive time that KCCA have failed to beat Soana at Kavumba and also failed to win a fourth successive league game.
