Bukedea District Copa Football Qualifiers:
Final: Tuesday, 4th April 2017
- Amus College Vs Bukedea
- Malera S.S Play-ground (4 p.m)
Amus College first broke into the limelight in 2015 when they represented Bukedea region at the nationals then held at Duhaga Secondary school in Hoima.
The following year, Amus who won the district and regional championship made it to nationals hosted by Teso College, Aloet in Soroti.
For this time round, Amus has taken a giant stride ahead of Tuesday’s district finals against Bukedea S.S at Malera S.S.
Nimrod Kintu, head coach at Amus College believes the good organization by his school has once again helped him reach this far with qualification to the regionals already guaranteed.
In an exclusive interview with Kawowo Sports, Kintu believes the competition at the district level has also been average.
We have had average competition in the district qualifiers.
The cutting edge for Amus College over the other schools is done to individual quality and the great organization for my team. My have been well organized right from the first training sessions we held.
After the district championships which were hosted by Malera S.S, focus will straight away shift to the regional championship.
Kintu has the hope they will qualify for the national championship for the third time running.
That is our target (qualifying for the nationals).
As district and regional defending champions, Amus College is working to defending these titles. Qualification will definitely come along after we have defended both titles.
Amus College will dwell upon the final goal scoring form of striker Derrick Oyai for the much needed magic and inspiration in Tuesday’s District final and the up coming regional qualifiers.
Amuria S.S will host the regional qualifiers between 12th and 14th April 2017.
Only three schools shall make the grade for the national finals which have been confirmed for Masaka Secondary school between 6th and 20th May 2017.
