Finals:

Mbale Progressive won both the girls and boys football titles in the Mbale district Copa qualifiers championships that concluded on Sunday at the Mbale Municipal stadium.
In the well contested boy’s final, Mbale Progressive edged Nkoma S.S 4-3 on post-match penalties. Normal time ended goal-less before the penalties decided the winner.
Mbale Progressive defeated Mbale Comprehensive secondary school 2-0 in the girls final.
Both Mbale Progressive and Nkoma will represent Mbale district in the regional championships for the Copa national championship that will be hosted by Masaka S.S between May 6th to 20th 2017.
Mbale veteran sports journalist, Godfrey Kakungulu hailed the level of competition throughout the two days’ championships;
We witnessed a small difference between the traditional powerful schools and the up coming schools because the competition was very stiff.
We expect even tougher competition during the regional qualifiers.
Mbale Municipal stadium will host the regional qualifiers.
