Mount St Mary’s Namagunga won the 5th annual High school girls Lacrosse championship held at the Makerere University Business School playground.
For the fourth year running, Mount St Mary’s Namagunga defeated nemesis side Nabisunsa Girl’s School 9-3 in the final.
The most improved team and 2nd time competitors Canaan High School put up the best performance’s of the lady with great athleticism and properly showing that we could have anew champion of this competition going forward.
Great scoring and record statistics were recorded in order of most goals scored St Mary’s Namagunga, Nabisunsa, Caanan High School, Gayaza High School.

“The morning showers made it more taxing for us to keep on our feet but we won all our three fixtures against Gayaza High School, Nabisunsa Girls School and Caanan High School Lugazi to take back what belongs to us,” Beatrice the team captain exclaimed in her remarks.
Maroons Lacrosse Club- Luzira was the surprise appearance to the tournament when an all star team selected from the high school girls manage to defeat them 5-3 in the most cheered game of the day.

The tournament had four schools turn up for the Annual event sponsored by the Uganda Lacrosse Association to facilitate talent development and competitiveness nationally as a stepping stone to take up the global stage preferably the U-19 World championships 2019 in Canada.
