Amus College School successfully defended their Bukedea district title when they easily outsmarted Bukedea S.S 4-0 in a one sided final played at Malera S.S playground on Tuesday.

Douglas Aloro scored a brace before Derrick Onyai and Yasin Mukiibi scored one apiece to crown the day for Nimrod Kintu’s coached side.

Onyani finished as top scorer with 10 goals.

Kintu, also a journalist working with City TV, Top Television has now set focus on the regional qualifiers where Amus is also the defending champion.

He has also clearly underlined the need and priority for Amus to play at their third straight national championship after Hoima (2015) and Soroti (2016).

Our target this season is three trophies.

The district, regional and national titles. I thank the boys (players) for achieving the first target.

Now focus turns to the regional qualifiers as work for qualification to our third national championships since the school was founded 4 years ago.

In the third place playoff, host school of the Bukedea district games Malera S.S outwitted Bukedea Life line 5-4 on post match penalties after normal time had ended one goal apiece.

Amuria S.S will host the regional qualifiers between 12th and 14th April 2017.

Only three schools shall make the grade for the national finals which will be osted by Masaka Secondary School between 6th and 20th May 2017.

A total of 60 schools will take part in the national championship where power house, Kibuli S.S is the defending champion.
