  • Uganda Premier League: BUL 1-2 URA

Uganda Revenue Authority recovered from a goal down to win 2-1 against BUL at the Kakindu Stadium in Jinja thanks to a double from Hamis Kiiza.

Hakim Magombe gave the home side the lead on 26 minutes against the run of play.

Four minutes later, Hamis ‘Diego’ Kiiza brought the matters level before scoring the other that turned out the game winner in the 35th minute.

This was URA’s 5th victory on a row, the longest in the league this season.

URA under the tutelage of Ibrahim Kirya as head coach has defeated Sadolin Paints (1-0), Soana (2-0), The Saints (2-0) and now BUL (2-1).

The 2-0 win Lweza was guided by James Odoch as head coach at a time Kefa Kisala’s employment contract had been terminated.

The tax collectors equaled the record set by Express for winning the most games in the league during 2013/14 season.

The run began on 18/04/2014 with a 2-0 win against Soana, they beat KCCA 3-2. They also won 1-0 against Bright Stars, Masaka LC, Proline before the 2 all draw with Entebbe on 6th May 2014.

URA closes gap on the leading pack with 39 points as they remain third in the league.

Table leaders SC Villa have 47 points after 23 games played, the same number as URA.

KCCA is second on the 16 team log with 46 points from 21 games.
