After drawing giants and hosts Carthage in the group stages of the Africa Clubs Championship, Ndejje Elites head coach Johnson Kawenyera has no time to lament but would rather focus on playing each game as it comes.

The tactician revealed to Kawowo Sports that he expected no easy teams at the championship and is prepared to face any team his side comes across.

“No pool is easy so we only need to put our feet on the ground,” Kawenyera told Kawowo Sports after the draw.

For Ndejje, the draw makes their dream of making the quarterfinals a tough challenge with Carthage, Cameroonian giants Injis and Ivory Coast’s ASEC all hard nuts to crack.

Ndejje’s captain Belinda Jepkirui noted before the team departed, that Carthage, Al Ahey of Egypt and pipeline of Kenya would be the teams to watch at the event.

Ndejje will have to finish in the top two places to book a place in the quarter finals, their target at the championship.

Saidat Nnungi, Jesca Kaidu, Jepkirui, Christine Alupo, Joan Tushemereirwe, Sharon Amito and Mwamula are some of the key players the team will rely on to challenge the African cream of club volleyball.

The first test for the side will be in the opening match of the tournament against Carthage, the host team of this year’s event.
