The Saints’ attempts at a great escape from the Uganda Premier League relegation battle will see them take on bottom side JMC at the Champions Stadium, Mwererwe on Friday.
With seven games left of play, Moses Basena’s men appear headed for the drop, and successive losses to SC Villa and URA haven’t helped matters.
One point is now the difference between them and the dotted line, and should their poor form continue, The Saints could be dead and buried.
The Saints have not won a game since triumphing against Bul in February in their 2-0 win. Four losses and two draws have since followed which have dropped the side down to 13th in the league.
But with JMC who haven’t won a game since the season started and who in reality will play in the Big League next season presenting opposition, Basena’s men should be able to ease pressure and climb four places up, with Bul and Sadolin Paints out of action and with Police taking on Kirinya-Jinja SSS who still have everything to fight for.
Aside from going down with pride of winning at least one league game, JMC who have managed just 10 points this campaign are left with nothing to fight for. The side is as good as relegated.
The Saints currently occupy the 13th position with only 23 points collected from as many games.
