The Uganda Chess Federation (UCF) in partnership with Makerere University Business School (MUBS) have organized a two-day Easter Classic Chess tournament scheduled to take place at the University’s EADB Hall from 14th -15th April.
The tournament will have three categories including Classic Open, Ladies and the Children section further grouped in the U10, U13 and U16, both boys and girls.
Aside from games, the event will also include interactive workshop with star players including Fide Master (FM) Patrick Kawuma, Woman Fide Masters (WFMs) Ivy Clare Amoko and Grace Kigeni, plus demonstration of famous openings from trainers.
Those intending to participate are required to part with Ugx 20,000 as registration fee as early as possible. Late registration will require a surcharge of Ugx 5,000.
Following its successful handling of the Zonal Qualifiers that were also held at the University in February, the event will be the second to be organized by the new Executive that is led by Emmanuel Mwaka as the President in its busy calendar.
