Wakiso District Copa Qualifiers:
Quarter finals:
- Buddo S.S 0 (5) – 0 (4) Standard High Zana
- St Julian 3-0 St John’s Kazo (St John’s Kazo did not turn up)
- Boston High 0-3 Victoria High, Matugga
- St Mary’s Kitende 3-0 Namboole High
Buddo S.S joined St Mary’s Kitende, St Julian and Victoria High School, Matugga as the four successful sides that will represent Wakiso region at Copa football finals in Masaka next month.
This was confirmed after the regioanl quarter final matches played on Friday at St Mary’s College, Kisubi main play ground.
Buddo outwitted Standard High School, Zana 5-4 in a tense penalty shoot out after a goalless draw in normal time. Buddo goalkeeper saved the first penalty from Standard High.
St Julian required no sweat when their opponent St John’s Kazo failed to show up in the first quarter final which had been scheduled for 9 a.m.
Victoria High, Matugga defeated Boston High, Mpala 3-0 in the third quarter final.
The final game of the day between St Mary’s Kitende and Namboole High ended 3-0 in favour of Kitende.
The semifinals and finals will be held on Sunday at Wakiso main head quarters.
Only four schools will represent the region at the nationals in Masaka.
Kibuli S.S is the defending champion.
