Two sides at the opposite ends of the table go head to head on Sunday at Luzira Prisons ground as Maroons host relegation bound Kyambogo FC in the FUFA Big League looking to seal direct promotion to the Uganda Premier League.
The prisoners, top of the Elgon Group with 42 points need just a single point to secure promotion to top flight.
After suffering two defeats that came in succession, their only defeats this campaign, Maroons bounced back in style last Thursday with a 4-1 win over Sporting United at the Prisons ground to stretch their lead atop.
Maroons’ second top scorer with 9 goals Solomon Walusimbi scored in that game, and the forward whose target is to end the season with 12 goals will be keen to register his name on the score sheet when the side they hit 5-2 in the reverse fixture presents opposition.
Kyambogo, meanwhile, are currently seated in the relegation zone with 15 points. The side has managed just two wins all throughout the campaign, while losing eight games.
This fixture couldn’t have come at the worst time for Kyambogo trying to escape the drop.
With only three games remaining for the side, it is almost certain that the side will not escape relegation, and losing at Luzira is very likely tomorrow.
