Ahead of the 2017 kick off for the Airtel Buganda Masaza Football championship, teams have started re-organizing their respective ‘houses’.

Bulemeezi Ssaza team, winners of the tournament in 2012 have appointed Gerald Ssenkungu to replace former Uganda Cranes defender Phillip Obwinyi as head coach.

The development was confirmed to Kawowo Sports by the team publicity secretary, Andrew Kaasa on Sunday.

Gerald Ssenkungu is the new Bulemeezi head coach, replacing Phillip Obwinyi whose contract was not renewed.

Impeccable sources inside the Bulemeezi Ssaza team indicate that Obwinyi had lost grip of the dressing room and had crossed boundaries over the technical department to management.

Other conspiracy theorists state Obwinyi’s active involvement in football politics with the rival football faction led by Dan Walusimbi also cost him his job at Bulemeezi.

Relatedly, the old organizing committee chairperson Arnold Ssenyonga has been tasked to set aside and replaced by Noordin Kiwanuka.

The new committee chairperson will be officially ushered in the coming weeks.

According to Kaasa, the team training officially starts on Monday, 10th April 2017 at the Kasaana Luwero playground.

Later on, when the new players to boost the old squad have been recruited, a series of friendly matches will have been lined up to further help and fine tune the team.
