Onduparaka’s Rashid Toha bemoaned their 2-1 loss to Sadolin Paints in the Uganda Cup on Sunday saying it ‘hurts so much.’

The Caterpillars were knocked out of the competition in the quarter finals, with Fred Kyambade and Nasser Muzamiru scoring for Sadolin Paints, and although Ceaser Okhuti pulled one back for last year’s finalists, Onduparaka were unable to find another goal despite being the better side in the second half.

Toha said: “I feel very bad. Our target was to reach the finals because it is going to be at the Green Light and possibly win it. Now we out, everybody is out. I don’t think it’s going to be interesting now that we are out, but there’s nothing we can do, we lost the game. It hurts so much.”

With Onduparaka seated fourth in the Uganda Premier League with 37 points, the side’s target of staying in the league is achieved. Onduparaka’s hopes for silverware this season was the Uganda Cup, but their hopes were crashed on Sunday.

Despite bowing out of the competition, Toha believes there’s still a lot to fight for this season.

“As Onduparaka Football Club, we had our target to remain in the league. I think it’s accomplished. Of course now we are out of the Uganda Cup now we are going to fight so hard to finish in a very comfortable position in the league. The season doesn’t end today.”
