Sport-S defeated Sky Volleyball Club 3-1 (20-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18) to lift this year’s edition of the Kampala International University (KIU) Open tournament at the university campus in Kansanga.

Despite starting the game on the wrong foot with Sky taking the first set 25-20, the Nsambya outfit reorganized to win three sets in a row and take home the trophy.

For Sport-S, it was revenge well served having lost to Sky in the semifinals of the Ndejje Open tournament last month.

Setter Warren Muhangi dictated the tempo of the game as Sky struggled to find their footing in the game.

Sport-S had defeated Nemostars 3-1 (20-25, 25 – 19, 25 – 21, 25 – 18) in the semifinals while Sky eased past A1 (25 – 13, 25 – 17, 25 – 19) in the other semifinal.

The two tournaments played so far have been shared between Sport-S and Sky.

Vision Volleyball Camp defeated Sport-S ladies 3-1 to win the ladies’ title and get back to winning ways.

Home side KIU defeated Nkumba University 3-1 (27 – 25, 25 – 21, 17 – 25, 25- 17) to win the institutions category for men.
