As was agreed in their Memorandum of Understanding, Kenya has selected a team full of all their professional players.

The only notable exclusion is Captain Rakeep Patel but the Thomas Odoyo coached-side will only mean business while in Kampala.

New batting coach and Kenya legend Maurice Odumbe is part of the entourage – on his 1st visit to Kampala as part of the technical team. Peter Ongondo completes the technical bench as assistant coach.

Both sides are very familiar with each in comfort, as a host of Ugandan players ply their trade for clubs in Nairobi and just last weekend Shem Obado was here playing for Kutchi Tigers.

Steve Tikolo was unceremoniously sacked as Kenya coach a year ago and possibly some kind of revenge will be on his mind.

He has already mentioned the tour is important for him to try out all his squad members, fine tune game plans and test match strategies as a unit.

UCA operations Manager Martin Ondenko was happy with the cooperation of their Kenyan counterparts and this what he had to say.

We are very glad that the Simbas agreed to tour Uganda this Easter season for a 5 match ODI series as our team builds up for the global showpiece in May. The simbas jet in aboard Rwanda Air at 6.20am on Thursday for their nine day tour and are carrying along a star studded and legendary technical bench comprising of men who have played in several ICC Cricket world Cups.
