Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) President’s Cup will not take place this weekend as earlier scheduled.

This is after the different team managers asked for the two-day event to be postponed to allow the various stakeholders celebrate Easter with their families.

“Note that during the managers meeting with UVF (kindly check the minutes that were sent to you), managers requested for the postponement of the president’s cup from the Easter weekend citing that most players travel up country for the festive season,” reads part of the communication sent to the team managers on Tuesday.

The tournament is now set to be played on the weekend of July 8th-9th.

The president’s cup is a tournament played on regional-basis with players from different regions of origin teaming up to compete.

It is played in commemoration of the various presidents who served the game of volleyball.

All the attention will now turn to the Zone 5 Beach Volleyball tournament to be hosted by Uganda at Lido beach starting Friday.
