FUFA Big League: Thursday, 13th April 2017

  • Kyambogo Vs Simba – Kyambogo West Play ground
  • Airtel – Kitara Vs Entebbe – Boma play ground, Hoima
  • Sun City Vs Kireka United – Hima Cement play ground, Kasese

Days after the alarming false story where they announced dead their goalkeeper, Ronald Kiggundu, Kyambogo Football Club returns to the frey with a home match against Simba in the FUFA Big League.

The match will be among the three of those games lined up on the day in the second tier league of the country.

This Elgon Group game is of equal significance to the two sides as the relegation battle looms.

Simba has 22 points from 20 matches as Kyambogo is second from bottom with just 15 points from 19 matches.

A loss for the home side will definitely spell doom as they will be virtually relegated to join already relegated Moroto United.

There are two matches in the Rwenzori Group. Airtel-Kitara plays host to Entebbe at the Boma playground in Hoima. Any result short of a victory for Entebbe will see them relegated to the Buganda Regional League.

Sun City plays host to Kireka United in the other match. This game will take place at Hima Cement playground in Kasese.

Masavu (Rwenzori Group) became the first club to be promoted this season to the Uganda Premier League.

They are most likely to be joined by Maroons (Elgon Group) who travel to Busia to face Busia Fisheries on the 28th April 2017 at the Madibira playground in the Uganda-Kenya boarder town of Busia.

Three clubs are promoted to the top tier league with the third determined after a promotional playoff.

Seven clubs are relegated to the respective Regional Leagues with three and four clubs dropping off from the Elgon and Rwenzori Groups respectively.
