FUFA Electoral Committee 2017:

The FUFA Electoral Committee was on Wednesday 12th April 2017 officially inaugurated at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.

Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the federation Edgar Watson presided over the brief function witnessed by journalists.

Watson reminded the media that the committee had been officially endorsed by the 92nd General Assembly that took place in Luweero.

He also noted that the committee is independent of its activities with all the powers to make key decisions bestowed upon them.

This is the FUFA Electoral Committee that was endorsed at the 92nd FUFA General Assembly held in Luwero last year

The Electoral committee is headed by city auditor, Sam Bakiika and deputized by former FIFA Referee, Yusuf Awuye.

By virtual of his position as CEO, Watson is mandated to be part and parcel of the committee as secretary and overseer of the entire committee.

The other committee members are Habib Aluma, James Okodi, John Gena Adupa, Micheal Igole, Julius Semanda, Geofrey Kintu and Stanley Kinene.

Bakiika promised to organize a free and fair election stipulating that the electoral exercise is a process  that is already underway and will end with the election of the President on 6th August 2017.

We promise to organize a free and fair election. This exercise is a process that started with the nomination exercise. We have trained all the polling agents and distributed them to the 85 districts of FUFA

From the nomination process at the district, regional, national and FUFA Executive levels, this will be followed by declaration of candidates that will lead to voting.

Bakiika noted that he will be the principal spokesperson of the committee assisted by Yusuf Awuye on all matters of the committee.

The Committee main Secretariat is based at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.

The committee will run on the theme “Democratic Governance For Football Development”.
