University Football League: YMCA, Bugema seek for first victory

It will be a clash of two debutant institutions when YMCA and Bugema face off in a Group C game on Thursday in the University Football League.

The game will be played at Matugga as the sides eye for their first maximum points ever since joining the league this year.

YMCA held Gulu in their opener a couple of weeks ago. On the other hand, Bugema was walloped by Kampala University in the opener.

Steven Mukwala, Moses Buga, Ibrahim Mugulusi and Abubaker Ssempala were on target for KU away from home as they kick started their title defence.

Allan Katwe, coach at YMCA has sent warning signals to Bugema University as they target for a win.

The game follows yesterday’s goal-less draw at Nakawa when Nkumba and MUBS universities played to a barren stalemate.

The University Football League has grown in popularity over the years. From a humble back ground, the league is now one of the most cheered sports events not only among universities, but in the entire country as a whole.

Players as Abel Eturude, Yassar Mugerwa, Jesse Kajubi, Siraje Musindo, Ibrahim Kazindula, Julius Malingumu to mention but a few are vivid products of this league.
