Rwenzori group FUFA Big League club Airtel-Kitara has determined the fate of two Entebbe based sides this season.

A couple of weeks ago, when Airtel–Kitara defeated Mbarara City 4-2 at their barren and dusty Boma playground, it was advantage granted to Masavu as the Katabi–Kitubulu club attained promotion to the Uganda Premier League.

On Thursday, Airtel–Kitara was supposed to host another side from Entebbe Municipality, Entebbe Football Club.

However, Entebbe F.C skipped the match to give the home side three valuable points.

The development implies that Entebbe is the second team to be relegated to the Regional League from the FUFA Big League this season after Boma Young which pulled out due to limited resources.

The FUFA Competitions department headed by Ali Mwebe will come out to pronounce themselves on the matter.

In the other Rwenzori Group match played, Sun City overcame visiting Kireka United 3-1 at the Hima Cement playground in Kasese.

Troubled Kyambogo was held to a 1-1 draw by Simba at the Kyambogo West end playground.

Promotion:

Three clubs are to promoted from the FUFA Big League to the Uganda Premier League.

Masavu has already attained promotion from the Rwenzori Group whilst Maroons is within a point of promotion from the Elgon Group as the two directly promoted sides from the two groups.

The third club shall be determined after a promotional playoff.

Two clubs per group shall engage in semifinal to determine the two finalists which will play at the Phillip Omondi stadium, Lugogo.

Mbarara City and Masaka side Synergy qualified from the Rwenzori Group.

Perennial Big League side Ndejje University and debutants Kira United are bound to make the playoff grade under the Elgon Group.

Demotion:

Four clubs will be demoted to the respective Regional Leagues.

From Rwenzori section, Boma Young and Entebbe are the relegated entities so far while Moroto United, Kyambogo and Doves All Stars are confirmed under Elgon.

The FUFA Big League was started in 2011 as a feeder tier to the top flight division – Uganda Premier League.
