Busoga Region Copa football qualifiers:
- Finals: Jinja S.S 1-0 Bukoyo S.S
Jinja Secondary School is the champion of the Busoga Region Copa football qualifiers following a slim 1-0 win over Bukoyo in the finals played in Bukoyo on Saturday.
In the semifinal, Jinja S.S had overcome Agape Namutumba, having defeated Namugongo Seed Kaliro 2-0 at the quarter final stage.
Jinja S.S, losing finalists Bukoyo, Agape S.S Namutumba and Iganga Parents will represent the Busoga region at the 2017 national Copa tournament in Masaka.
A total of 60 schools shall play in Masaka with the Sebei Region expected to contribute schools for the first time ever.
The Cop schools football tournament has been played for close to 30 years now with the main target among others to identify, nurture and develop talents.
