UMEA Solidarity Games 2017:
- Overall Champions: Kibuli S.S (*Gold medal winners in Badminton (Boys), Handball (Girls & Boys), Netball)
Kibuli Secondary School is the overall champion of 2017 Uganda Muslim Education Association (UMEA) games.
The Kampala-based school came top out of over 35 schools that gathered at Welden and Nyamitanga schools in Mbarara over the Easter holiday.
Kibuli S.S won four gold medals out of the possible 11 to clinch the overall title awarded at a colourful closing ceremony held at the Kakyeka stadium on Monday.
Gold medals in Badminton (Boys), Handball (Boys and Girls) as well as netball witnessed Kibuli retain their overall title.
Mbogo won the Girls’ Badminton gold, Kasawo took Boys’ Football and Kawempe Muslim were the Girls’ Football champions.
Kasawo edged Bulo Parents 5-4 in the boys’ final after normal time had ended one goal apiece. On the other hand, Kawempe Muslim beat Kibuli S.S in girls’ football final 2-1.
Table Tennis (Boys and Girls) was dominated by the Mbogo entity of Mbogo High School and Mbogo Mixed schools respectively.
Mbogo Mixed also won the Boys’ Volleyball title as Kinawa High took the Girls’ category.
The 2018 UMEA games will be hosted by Nkooma Secondary School in Mbale.
