Willy Ambaka

Kenyan Rugby star Willy Ambaka is still waiting for controversy surrounding his visa to clear as he relishes a move to New Zealand for another chapter in his career.

After shinning in Lyon and later getting injured in South Africa, Amabaka is now back on track only a visa away from joining Manawatu Turbos.

The 26-year-old winger had his initial request rejected and has since sent in another – expecting better this time round.

“There is possibility of him coming, but he is subject to visa and there is no visa movement at the moment,” Manawatu Rugby Union chief executive told stuff.co.nz.

“Immigration (New Zealand) have really tightened up and what I have usually put in visa applications is no longer good enough.”

Ambaka made his first appearance in the National team “Shujaa” under the recommendation of his coach who believed in him for the Hong Kong sevens.

He also featured in the IRB Sevens World series squad for the 2012/13 season.
