Bugisu Copa Schools Qualifiers 2017:

  • Boys’ Final: Nkoma SS 0(3)-0(2) Mbale Progressive SS
  • Girls’ Final: High Way SS Sironko 2-0 Mbale Progressive

Nkoma Secondary School is the champion of Bugisu Region Copa post primary championships.

The Mbale-based school achieved the feat after overcoming rivals Mbale Progressive 3-2 in penalties following a goalless draw in normal time at the Mbale Municipal stadium.

Anthony Situma, 15, a S.1 student and goal keeper Nkoma SS, who also doubles as the team captain was the hero of the day after saving 2 kicks from the penalty spot.

Sironko Progressive SS finished third after beating St. Joseph Buyanga 2-1 in penalties following a 2-2 draw.

Nkoma SS, Mbale Progressive and Sironko Progressive will represent Bugisu Region at the national tournament at Masaka SS from 6th to 20th, May 2017.

Meanwhile, High Way SS Sironko, Mbale progressive, Nabumali High School and University Link High School will represent Bugisu region at the national tournament in the girls category.
