With the National Basketball League season set to tip off May 19, the Federation of Uganda Basketball Association competitions committee has released the fixture for the season.

The opening night, which is always one to look forward to by the lovers of the game, will bear an enticing clash between four time winners and defending champions City Oilers and five time winners Power.

City Oilers, who lost two-time MVP Kami Kabange to Rwandan side REG, have since signed national team captain Steven Omony and are looking to win their fifth successive league title since joining the league in 2013.

Former UCU Canons forward Joseph Chuma is also in talks with Oilers and could be ready for action.

Power have also added Sula Bbale from Falcons and continue to chase the signature of Kenyan international Ariel Okal.

In the ladies’ category, defending champions UCU Lady Canons will lock horns with A1 Challenge in the first game of the 2017 season.

Nick Natuhereza’s charges have won the last two championships and are chasing a 3-peat in the coming season.
